Petrified Forest, Cape Bridgewater Clifftop Walk

On the Cape Bridgewater Clifftop Walk you'll pass the remnants of a grove of trees that is believed to have turned to stone. It is speculated that the grove of old Moonah trees became encased in limestone and appears to resemble a Petrified Forest.
Also experience some of Victoria's highest coastal cliffs, take a tour to see Australia's largest mainland seal colony, or relax on the beach while in Cape Bridgewater.

Loch Ard Gorge and the Twelve Apostles, Great Ocean Road, Port Campbell National Park

The Port Campbell National Park is less than 2 hours drive from Port Fairy. Famous for the 12 Apostles (pictured here) and shipwrecks (The Loch Ard Gorge), the parks diverse coastline contains limestone stacks and arches, coastal cliffs, dunes, wetlands and woodlands.

This small fishing town is located at the mouth of the Glenelg River on Discovery Bay only kilometers from the border of South Australia. Experience wild ocean beaches, magnificent estuaries, ocean fishing, canoeing and boating, diving and snorkelling. Take a river cruise through the gorge to discover the high and majestic limestone cliffs that line the Glenelg River.
Also nearby is the Princess Margaret Rose Cave (15 minutes), a limestone cave which is open for guided tours. View cave coral, helictites, rimstone, stalacitites and stalagmites in this 'underground wonderland'.

The Grampians�National Park, Halls Gap

Go to the Baroka Lookout to view spectacular mountain formations within 2 hours drive of Port Fairy. While in Halls Gap visit the Brambuk Heritage Centre and learn about our indigenous heritage or enjoy a coffee at one of the cafes.
Take a short drive to Mackenzie Falls, the largest waterfalls in the Grampians for a picnic or hike the numerous walking trails and experience the local flora and fauna and treasured ancient aboriginal rock art.

Blue Lake, Mt Gambier, South Australia

The Blue Lake is an extinct volcanic maar, one of four crater lakes on Mt Gambier. This monomictic lake turns vibrant cobalt blue in colour from December to March from it's normal colour of steel grey in April to November.
